GHG Emission Assesment Guide
-
Helping local governments assess GHG emissions.
What is this?
This is a guide that provides local governments with background information and guidance for calculating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions for various common infrastructure types.
Why is this useful?
This guide can assist local governments in estimating the GHG emissions reductions that will arise from infrastructure projects. It also deals with infrastructure grant applications and program requirements for such programs as the Provincial Towns for Tomorrow and LocalMotion programs, and the Federal/Provincial/Union of BC Municipalities Gas Tax Program. It helps to encourage overall GHG reduction for communities.
Who created it and when?
The guide was created in a partnership between the Ministry of Community Services and the Community Energy Association in British Columbia. It was released on February 20, 2008.
